Choose Your Course
1. English+
A2 (minimum) level of English
For students aged 11–13 with a minimum A2 level of English, this course focuses on English language and global culture through interactive lessons and hands-on projects. Study tours and personalised focus activities enhance the experience.
All pupils will:
- Strengthen their English skills in a dynamic, immersive environment.
- Develop transferable academic and life skills such as research, planning, debating, and teamwork.
- Receive a certificate and progress report at the end of the course.
2. Academic English+
B1 (minimum) level of English
Designed for students aged 14–16 with at least a B1 level of English, this course allows students to specialise in either STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) or ABH (Arts, Business & Humanities).

Expert Project Classes
(Academic English+ students only – choose one per course)
Design & Manufacturing
- Light: Create a decorative table lamp using CAD and electronics.
- Time: Design and manufacture an analogue desk clock using traditional techniques.
Business Innovation Challenge
- Explore business concepts, develop a startup idea, and pitch it to a panel of experts.
IELTS Preparation
- Learn exam techniques and complete a practice test to refine English proficiency.
International Relations & Debating (Mini-MUN)
- Discuss global issues, improve negotiation skills, and participate in a Model UN-style debate.
Film Making
- Master directing, costume design, cinematography, and editing while producing a short film.
Coding
- Develop interactive websites using HTML and CSS with a focus on user experience.
Science
- Solve real-world problems using the Scientific Method in a collaborative setting.
International Study Preparation
B2 (minimum) level of English (ages 15–17)
This course builds academic skills for future studies in an English-speaking school, college, or university, equipping students to become independent learners.
Academic Skills Development
- Improve research, writing, listening, and presentation techniques.
- Engage in seminar-style discussions and structured debates.
Focus Activity (8 hours/week)
- Select a weekly activity to complement academic learning (see page 15).
Evening Activities
- Choose from a wide range of sports, arts, and social events.

Study Tours & Excursions

Students explore historic and cultural sites such as:
- London, Oxford, Cambridge, Greenwich
- The River Thames, museums, and interactive workshops
These excursions integrate hands-on learning to make history and culture come alive, linking back to classroom lessons.
Evening Activities

A mix of relaxing, active, and creative activities, giving students the chance to unwind and connect with new friends. Options include:
- Outdoor cinema, silent disco, fashion show
- Sports (swimming, tennis, football, badminton, cricket, rugby, squash)
- Yoga, crafts, cooking, circus skills, zorbing
Evenings are about fun, friendship, and cultural exchange in a welcoming environment.
Life At Haileybury
Over several weeks, students at Haileybury enjoy a vibrant residential experience, forming friendships, exploring cultures, and thriving in a secure community.
They stay in single-sex boarding houses with peers from around the world, supported by House Parents and a 1:4 staff-to-student ratio.
Days are packed with learning, activities, and social events, while the dining hall serves a variety of meals, including vegetarian and vegan options.
